I went to a Scottsdale Association of Realtors class yesterday.  I will have to admit that I didn’t find the class all that interesting or useful until the very end. At the end, a man went up to the front and spoke about being a successful realtor for a number of years. This man was very joyful and funny. He gave us his “secrets” to being a great realtor. He said:

  • Real Estate Tip #1 : Stand Up! Stop sitting at your desk all day. Go out and meet people.
  • Real Estate Tip #2 : Work with people you like.
  • Real Estate Tip #3 : Work with a smaller group that you have great connections with rather than a bigger group with ok connections.
  • Real Estate Tip #4 : Be happy and think positive!

This man was very exciting to hear talk. I hope one day to be as charasmatic and outgoing as him. He not only knew the real estate industry and how successful people navigate their way to the top. Real estate is about who you know.

    I think the man from the class gave good advice, just one thing about the business is changing. You can consider the time spent working on blogs, postings, social networking as prospecting. As long as you are working on connecting with people, in my opinion, it is the same thing as going out face to face. Just make sure some of your social online time is with people in your community.

  2. I have to agree with Carolyn. Most if not all of my business comes from the internet. It seems as though blogging and connecting with people online is getting me just as much business as going and knocking door to door. Although it is still important for me to go out and get businees within the community, the most doable at this time is the community of the internet.

    That charisma and joy you noticed is contageous isn’t it? You’ve got to find at least a couple people like that to hang out with! Once you’re infected you can infect others. Good deal?

  4. This guy is too good and he has good practical knowledge of marketing. You choose perfect realtor class. Best of luck.
